Flesh They Crave - The Feeding

In the early 1900's world renowned chemist, Thaddeus Preston, was best known for his medicinal tonics and elixirs. Although these tonics and elixirs would save lives, it did not equal the amount of deaths due to his experiments throughout the years. There were no case studies. No control groups. No placebos.

One specific elixir labeled Anti-Pain Serum was the most popular. The chemical compound called PX-19 contained a mixture of altered plant forms from a nearby greenhouse. Although it left the patient without pain, the serum had serious side effects including hallucinations, nightmares, and death. PX-19 had to be inhaled to achieve the desired results. The patient would first experience a euphoric state and then begin hallucinating. Survivors say inhaling the elixir would bring their worst nightmares to life.

Many committed suicide. Thadddeus was illegibly responsible for the deaths of 200 people over a thirteen year span. He was ultimately charged, found guilty and incarcerated for the murder of his mother, Jessica Crane-Preston. She was the daughter of the local constable, the infamous Icahabod Crane.

Thaddeus's wife was in prison for crimes against humanity. She was pregnant when the chemist entered the prison system. The day came when Natasha went into labor five months early. Thaddeus was escorted in shackles to the female section of the facility. He dropped to his knees at the side of the bed where his wife screamed in agonizing pain. Something was eating its way out of Natasha's womb.

Unable to bear witness to the pain his wife was suffering, the chemist removed a well hidden vial from his boot and broke it open. Gas filled the room. All became eerily quiet. A guard from outside the infirmary door called for help. A nurse stormed into the room. When the fog cleared Natasha was dead. She had a large wound torn through her lower abdomen, and lying next to her lifeless body was an infant boy. Thaddeus was still on his knees unaffected by the gas.

A doctor was summoned to the infirmary. The nurse snatched the abnormally large baby and wrapped it in a tattered blanket. In the confusion, Thaddeus Preston was viciously beaten trying to escape from custody awakening the baby boy. He lunged at the nurse, his jagged teeth tearing at her throat. She dropped the child next to his dying father. The child stared into is dying father's eyes as Thaddeus took his final breath. That was the only time Thaddeus saw his child. The child, who would be known as the infamous Prisoner X.
